History is Made at Night 1937

Paul: Do you mind, if I do?

Irene: No!

Paul: Oh! I'm sorry. The clasp is bent.

Paul: There!

Irene: But, why?

Paul: Don't you want them?

Irene: But, you're a thief!

Paul: I beg your pardon!

Irene: Oh, I'm so sorry…

Paul: I was in the room next door. I was putting a friend of mine to bed who had a little too much to drink. I couldn't help but become very much interested in that unusual little scene you were playing.

Irene: Oooh!

Paul: The reason I kidnapped you was to return your jewels.

Irene: Oh! But why did you take them?
Paul: If I didn't make believe I was a thief, my presence would have compromised you, I think, as much as your chauffeur's.

Irene: Oh! I'm awfully sorry!
Paul: I forgive you.
Irene: Where are you taking me?

Paul: I would think you'd like to do a little thinking before you go back. We are just riding around.

Irene: Oh! All I seem to say is oh! Yes, I must think. Did you say something about a cigarette?

Irene: Thank you! Yes, I must think.

Paul: Have you thought?

Irene: Yes, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere…

Paul: Maybe, a little drink would help!

Irene: Where?

Paul: Leave it to me! I know the best champagne in Paris.

Irene: Tonight, I don't care if it's the worst.

Paul: Driver! To the Château Bleu!

Bill: What's this here?

Trina: Oh! Ira gave it to me. He wants me to read it sometimes when I've got nothing else to do.

Bill: You're a heck of a woman for a guy like me.

Trina: I don't know if it's going to be a very good stew…

Bill: That's like grabing a hell of a lot of bones! That's just what you are: bones! You know that, don't you?

Trina: Yeah! But, I'm young, am I not?

Bill: That's makes no difference!

Trina: Maybe it does! Maybe I'll sort of fill out after!

Bill: No, you'll never look like a woman. You haven't any of the looks of one!

Trina: What difference does it make as long as you are good to me!

Bill: A good deal! Don't get that idea in you, nut! It spoils some people. You've got to step on if you want to stay with me and get your teeth knocked out. Don't you think I'll knock them out anyway? Come here!

Trina: Bill, what happened to your forehead?

Bill: Never mind my forehead! Whose is this?

Bill: You dames some get phoney ideas all right, don't you?

Bill: Go on, go to work! And if that stew is burned, I'll pour it down your back!

Bill: Hey! What do you want to do? Break it?

Bill: Hey! Stupid!

Trina: Oh! Bill! Oh! Bill!

Bill: Aaaah!

Trina: Bill, I…
